Key to implementing the
Communities & Justice Programme
is our training manual, which seeks to achieve the following:
-
Dispel myths that communities may hold about the criminal justice system.
-
Improve participation of communities in crime prevention initiatives.
-
Contribute in breaking the cycle of crime in communities.
-
Inform communities of their rights and responsibilities in their interaction with law enforcement agencies.
The Communities & Justice Programme Training Manual
The Communities & Justice Programme Training Manual was developed to empower communities to have a better understanding of the functioning of the Criminal Justice System; and the role of the practitioners within the Criminal Justice System; to create a platform for the participants to interact with the law enforcement agencies; to begin a dialogue to improve relationships and enhance confidence in the Criminal Justice System; and to promote an understanding of the rights of an individual in interacting with the law enforcement agencies.
